Mattel bought Tyco and therefore the rights on Dino-Riders, didn't they?

2017 it will be the 30th anniversary of Dino-Riders. Is Mattel willing do relaunch this awesome line like they did with MOTUC? Re-release them with this awesome box art? Who has the rights to the box art? Who was the artist?

Question:
Who wants Dino-Riders back?

Choices:
Yes, re-release the original toys same package
Yes, but updated like MOTUC with awesome box art like in the 80s
Just bring them back
No, I don't want them to return, they had their time

I'd love to see them released as a 6inch scaled line (Movie Masters Style/Size or maybe DCUC).

The Dinosaurs, redone in the 6inch scale would be awesome!

Mattel, please stop making articulated copies of the original MOTU toys as a rule and only use old elements that still hold up to today's standards.

6 inch dinosaurs? No offense, but honestly what would be the point in releasing 6" Dino Riders? It just wouldn't make much sense because with dinos like the T-Rex being 6" the humans would have to be the size of a pinky finger to ride them. If the humans were 6", a T-Rex would have to be close to 3 feet tall. The only logistical way to bring this line back would be for the humans to be joe sized, and the Dino's to be close to their original scale, perhaps with some better articulation. Honestly probably a commemorative re-release of the original figures is about the only logistical way to really put this line back out.

Who says 6"? Nobody does but you. I said like MOTUC in regards to the revamp, not the size! Just a modern update!

Gy-Gor my post was in reference to DemonKnight above me who DID specifically mention 6" scale.

Sorry, you are totally right. Did not see that. Now I agree with you. 6inch really does not make sense in this line. Due to high costs for plastic nowadays I also think that G.I. Joe/Star Wars size for the human/mutant figures would be too large, cos the dinosaurs would have to be even large to keep scale. That would make them unaffordable if you see people complaining about BC, Gy-Gor being 30 bucks and Tytus even more. The Apatosaurus would cost at least 100 $ if it goes even to retail.

Hate to break it to you, but Mattel doesn't have a very good track record with 3 3/4 figures. If they made these G.I.Joe sized, then it's a good bet they won't be very sturdy or/and very good looking. I love 3 3/4 inch figures, but there aren't too many companies making quality figure in that size.

As for size, well Mattel will most likely make large scale dinosaurs for MOTUC and then they could just reuse the same molds (they may not make the really big guys). Also, if Dino-Riders were sold at retail the price should be lower, due to a higher production run (that'd still leave them at Millinium Falcon level prices, so yes I have to agree on the price). The articulation would also probably be limited (That would help to further reduce the cost).

Basically my only gripe w/ 3 3/4 inch would be the quality most likely produced by Mattel. Now if another company (who shall remain nameless, but rhymes with Masbro) were to make Dino-Riders, then I'd say 3 3/4 inch was the way to go.
