Of course, because if I payed $30 for something, I sure wouldn't want to go about touching it.

Throughout history, people have had the same cry, "Don't open the package!" When they delivered Michelangelo's David, Father Ignatius demanded that it stay in a shipping crate until he died. They thought about letting people walk around in the Statue of Liberty, but kept it in its box until Nazi spies snuck in and cut the enormous strips of tape in WW2 (which is why it turned green, BTW). And now the same goes with Ghostbusters.

There are a group of guys producing art on a tiny mass-produced scale, and the art goes largely unappreciated because grown men who buy toys are afraid of opening the package.

I play with my stuff, I rearrange it, I throw slime on it. When my wife and I have kids, I'll be in good practice.

I didn't say I don't remove them from their boxes, I said I don't play with them! (Although, on second reading, what I actaully said was I don't pay with them! D'oh!)

History's littered with madmen and I think there's a big difference between keeping your toy in it's clear plastic bubble and keeping a work of art in a crate!

Oh yeah, and the Statue of Liberty would have turned "green" (I think Verdigris is the word you were looking for! Wink ) wether or not it was in a box or behind muzlin or whatever it was wrapped in. It's called oxidization. Do they not teach science in American schools anymore? Tisk. Roll Eyes It's the same type of chemical reaction that'll happen to all our lovely action figures in time, be they loose or MOC. Trust me on this, I'm a scientist! Wink

So I know that we're all excited at the possibility that Winston will be delayed and fixed, but has there been any news confirming this or not since the original post? The Q&A where this started and this thread said that Matty was going to consider possibilities. I've been trying to keep up, but haven't seen anything since the original announcement of the possibility. Have I missed something?

I expect them to keep the same body sculpt and just put an extra pvc piece over the shoulders/chest, similar to how they do suit jackets. It's a very easy fix for Mattel, even if they had already started production on the figure it would be an easy thing to add after the fact.

The tank on the other hand... I don't expect to see that changed. Keep in mind that the proton packs are undersized themselves, so I don't think we'll be seeing an accurate sized slime blower tank. It would be nice if they could make it a little bigger, but I'm not holding my breath.

What is it with Mattel and not knowing the names of the characters they're flogging us? First is was Lewis Tully and now it's Scalari brother. Roll Eyes Honestly, it's not that hard is it? Really?

Great news on the MOTUC side with Panthor coming out in March though! Yay!

Take all the time you need. As long as the figure is screen accurate with the vest/correct sized slime blower, I'll be ordering it whenever you have it available.

I read this from protoncharging.com who, in turn got it from poeghostal.com's Ask matty. Here's an update on SB Winston:

1.) You recently announced that the Winston w/ Slime Blower was delayed. Is there any chance the delay is because you’re adding the “football pads” part of his outfit?

He is delayed to make him more accurate to the film. He will have the full vest and pads when released.

Well, the didn't really address the tank size, but that doesn't mean they aren't doing anything about it.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Also, it was mentioned a few pages back about the proton packs being smaller scale...

I think the pack is likely 5-10% smaller than it is in the films, but thats pretty minor. The Slime Blower... and I'd need to see it again... was maybe 10-25% smaller than it was in ghostbusters 2.

I didn't actually expect them to add the harness to be honest. But it's great to hear that they are. So, I suppose it's a good compromise. After all, I suspect there is a very good reason for the tanks initial size, but I'm still hoping to see it increased ever so slightly...

Great new! Smiler I wish we'd hear this more often, as I dislike buying flawed figures.

I would rather wait for a better figure than just make due because Mattel said it would be out at a certain time.

Mattel, please stop making articulated copies of the original MOTU toys as a rule and only use old elements that still hold up to today's standards.
