I love these Ghostbusters figures. I remember being a kid in the 80's and had some of the Real Ghostbusters toy's and wished that I could have movie style figures, never happened. A couple of years back NECA did some Ghostbusters figures and stopped on the first series (due to actor likenessess?), and now Mattel has got the rights to do the figures I have been wanting since I was a kid and must say that I'm grateful for these figures. Even if the sculpt or paint isn't just right or there's too many Slimers screw ups are a part of life and we all need to deal with some of the mess ups Mattel has and may endure in this line. I'm just a simple kind of guy that watches both Ghostbuster movies at least 24 times a year and The Real Ghostbusters DVD's 1 hour a day on my days off, so it's easy to say that any thing related to Ghostbusters I love.

Lol mate, you sound like my Doctor Who mad friend; eats, sleeps and breathes the **** show! My problem is I like too many things and I have several collections on the go; Ghostbusters, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Thundercats, Dragons (resin ones by Drangorge, not plastic or toy ones) to name but a few. I'm not quite as bad as Comedian, but it's no wonder I never have any money!

But right now I'm putting most of my spare cash into this GB line (odd DW or MOTUC figure aside) as I think they're well worth the price tag. I'm so glad I stumbled on this line as I think I would have spent the next 25 years kicking myself for missing them if I hadn't discovered them!

For me, Just like with the MOTUC line, I am just happy they are making toys of these again. Like He-Man, I had all the Ghostbusters toys in the 80's, and its awesome to see a line of Ghostbuster figures again.

I was pleased with SDCC. I guess I felt a little let down because there are some characters I cant wait for.

Goezer
The Dogs
Vigo
Louis in Ghostbusters outfit
Dana

and God willing, an Ecto-1 or Fire Station Playset for the 6 inch toys.

But, there is only 1 figure every 2 months. So We have to be patient. The line seems to be doing well, and i think eventually we can cover everyone.

It couldnt be to hard to cover everything anyways. there is only 2 films and a video game.

But overall I am just happy to be buying ghostbuster toys again. Smiler

A crap load of variants or not, I've been enjoying this line from day one! Collecting these figures reminds me of when I was way younger, and it brings me a lot of joy.

lol.. I feel bad for my girlfriend, she has to put up with my craziness as well. I know she feels some of the same enjoys I do, she's been a fan of Ghostbusters since she was a kid, but I know I can be too much at times. =)

Well I'm really happy with the 6" line, I just hope ill be able to get stands and proton streams for the figures I already have. The future of the 6" line has me really excited, I'm in no rush, want them to take their time and do all the ghosts and supporting cast right. As for the 12" line, I'm waiting for Winston in August and that set will be done. But I'm really hoping that Mattel makes a accessories pack. I can't justify another $240 for the same 4 characters with stuff the originals should have had anyway. So I hope we will have a accessories pack so we can get the stuff we missed out on because we are good fans/customers and bought them the first time around......and guys please continue to voice your opinion on the accessories so Mattel can hopefully get the hint.

Ok

Mattel! Throw in a trap, trap cord, walkie talkie, blast stream, and PKE Meter with EVERY 'Buster! Now that the tools are available, it'll cost pennies, but have a HUGE impact on value!

as far as the 12" line goes, I have no plans to drop yet another $60 on re-releases, new accessories or not. I WOULD, however, pay for an accessory pack to complement my current 'Busters.

I agree. As far as 6" accessories the main thing I want are the streams and bases. But I agree with your statement about the 12" line 100% I wont buy the 2 packs but ill gladly buy a accessories pack in a heart beat.

I would love accessory packs. I hadnt even really thought about that, but then saw you guys mentioning it.

I would LOVE a pack with the Streams to go on the proton guns, stands, traps, PKE, walkie talkies, trap wires with the thing to step on, on the ends, maybe even accesories to decorate dioramas with like stuff you see in their labs. or artifacts from the films.

That would be SWEET!

There is great potential for this line, and I think that excites me more than anything. I am very interested to see what is to come.

Yeah, I think accessory packs are definately a good idea. It'd be a nice reward for we long time collectors and a nice addition for those new to the line if they felt like getting the pack. I hope someone from Mattel reads these boards and takes these ideas on, er, board! Big Grin

I think all the variant is going to be a bit of an overkill.
The Labcoat versions are pretty decent, I guess the courtroom suits are ok, but Marshmallow Mess versions are really pushing it. I hope they leave it at Ray and that's it. I hate to see any Mood slime variants as well...

What would be really cool is if we're also getting both Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore in the Slimed GB1 costumes so we'll have the team in all slimed costumes! Also, the Ghostbusters in casual clothes and the four Ghostbuster Doppelganger Citizen Ghosts where at the very least their skin is made of Translucent Plastic.

If I would cherry pick the GB line and there would only be like 3 figure I want and would order those separately, they would be $30 each incl. shipping. With the sub they are $20 each for me because I get a MOTUC sub again. They can ride along with the MOTUC figures' shipping box which saves around $70 or 3 1/2 figures Big Grin I haven't missed a GB figure yet because I am collecting MOTUC as well and have to be on the website for those anyway so I guess I stay a completist of GB for at least another year.

I actually like the majority of the GB figures mostly because of all the added accessories that come with the figures. That's the biggest reason and the most to look forward to. Especially the Pack-In Ghosts are totally awesome!!!!

I don't think Mattel will release an accessory/weapons pack for GB because it's better marketing for them to put some accessories here and there with repaint/variant figures to make them more appealing. IF they actually will release accessory/weapons packs, they will most likely be repaints only like the MOTUC weapons pak where Mattel has stated there will be no straight repacks of any accessory or weapon period.

What I like the best out of all the upcoming releases:
* Louis Tully (Posessed by Vinz Clortho the Keymaster)
* The Subway Ghost [with Ray Stantz "Ready to believe you" in Labcoat]
* Nunzio "The Scoleri Brothers" Ghost [with Peter Venkman in Courtroom Suit]
* The awesome gadgets; PKE Meter, Ecto-Goggles, Ghost Sniffer, Slime Blower, Tri-Pod Trap & Walkie Talkie
* Neutrona Streams (blast effect) for the Proton Packs
* Glow-in-the-dark No-Ghost Logo stands
* Egon Spengler & Peter Venkman both in clean GB1 uniforms
* And last but not least also kuddos for the fun stuff; the Stack of Books!!!

What I would also love to see released:
- Janine Melnitz in GB1 casual clothes
- Dana Barrett Posessed by Zuul the Gatekeeper
- Dana Barrett in casual clothes
- Louis Tully in suit as Lawyer
- Louis Tully in Ghostbusters Uniform
- Mayor Lenny
- Vigo the Carpathian (Vigo von Homburg Deutschendorf)
- Dr. Janosz Poha (the curator) possessed by Vigo
- Library Ghost Elenor Twitty
- Taxi Cab Driver Ghost
- Sam Hain (Mr. Halloween, The Pumpkinhead in person)
- The Boogey Man (He's the proverbial of things going bump in the night)
- Tony (The Scoleri Brothers) Ghost
- Terror Dog Zuul the Gatekeeper
- Terror Dog Vinz Clortho the Keymaster
- Gozer the Gozerian / The Destructor
- Jogging Ghost
- Theatre Ghost
- The Grundel
- People Busters
- Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (only if he's at the very least 15" with a friendly face, otherwise pass

- Ray Stantz in Slimed GB1 costume
- Winston Zeddemore in Slimed GB1 costume
- All 4 Ghostbuster Doppelganger Citizen Ghosts (in Translucent Plastic)
- All 4 Ghostbusters in Casual Clothes

- Ecto-1 in Scale with the 6" figures (1:12 Scale)
- Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Playset in Scale with the 6" figures (1:12 Scale)

(p.s. I'm only talking about the 6" GB line, that's the only GB line I collect)
