Dear Matty, I 've never posted anything in the forums (as a matter-o-fact, I just registered to post this message)... THANK YOU for listening to fans and attempting to help shorten the time that we spend in lines at SDCC. THANK YOU for the opportunity to preorder the exclusives. I realize that not everyone was able to get everything (some sold out quick) but I really wanted to make sure that everyone at Mattel who was responsible for the preorder idea was THANKED. So, thank you! I've been attending Comic-Con for years and it's frustrating seeing many of the same companies make the same blunders year after year. Poor communication = Long lines = angry fans = bad press. I've always thought that a giant sign at the Mattel booth (or Hasbro or anyone) that gave instructions would be a great idea. THANK YOU for your great communication this past month about your products and pricing! I just can't say THANK YOU enough. Those who weren't able to get everything they wanted, don't worry, you'll get what you want in 2 weeks. Fans on these forums should be nothing but thankful. Thank you, A fan from Nashville, TN

OMG I can't believe I forgot today was the day. I kept having this odd feeling while I was at work but couldn't figure out what it was. I finally got on this website right now to only find out that I forgot today was the Voucher Presale Day. Can't believe I forgot! ....well hopefully there's still some left at the booth on Thursday when I go.

Not a scalper huh? I laugh that you charge a "mule fee". Again I'm glad you got shut out today. http://forums.toynewsi.com/ind...lecaros&fromsearch=1

like i said in the other topic....how is that scalping? i help fellow board members out (which proves why i have to buy so many of certain figs), and to bring everything back i have to rent a trailer to hold it all, the trailer usually runs me about $125, so the mule fee i charge people goes to pay for that, if you read the first post i say that. if i just bought stuff for myself i wouldnt have to rent a trailer, so why should i cover the cost of a trailer when its not for me. i swear some people are jsut dumb as bricks. This message has been edited. jjlecarlos: We dont need the name calling here. I suggest you EDIT your own message for the specific name "called" before the entire thread gets deleted. Lets keep the discussion on one thread too? You could save yourself a world of heartache. Renting a Uhaul is not the answer. There's a post office in San Diego near SDCC that stays open until 11:00pm. Took alot boxes there after hours from SDCC over the past 2 years. One persons scalping and another persons helping others is "a point of view" I get items for others too but, I think the way that you tried to go about it, repeatedly asking to use the same Credit Card (ONLY your credit card) for friends going to SDCC was not a good idea. (my personal opinion) Rules were and are pretty clear on that then. Same names on all ID, badges, vouchers and payments were clarified a day before and again an hour before sale time.

yeah but its the truth i have to buy a lot of figures for these people and im paying for it cuz they gave me the money, now my gf and friends i go with help me buy the figures because i alone cant buy all the figures because of the limit. so what i usually do is this, go up to mattel counter with 2-3 friends...say i want (for example) plastic man x15, orko x12, ecto1 x 5....and so on.....when it comes to pay it all gets charged on my card, thats how ive done it ever year, and because there are 2-3 of together then they allow it cuz we are all within our limits for figures. so like i was saying before i dont see why they wouldnt be able to do it with the preorder....we all would still be together to pick it up and they would have their ids and badges that match the preorders and i would have the CC to match all the orders.

JJlecarlos: Yea fine, you buy alot. HAVE to BUY alot? No one has to unless they run a business/ebay presales. What you do with them is your business. But you have to agree ALL the rules do and did apply right? Might even have to agree that the repeated credit card question, some might consider it whinning even. (just my opinion bud) It did sound like your buying for "family/friends ONLY" but maybe thats what I read into it. those rules were there to HELP SDCC ATTENDEES ONLY, while on a "working vacation" whos card MIGHT be stolen in between home and the actual event....keep peoples accounts safe. Its also not just to stop/slow down power buyers and maybe even Ebayers who charge HUGE PRICES for items. (again my opinion) and I agree with others that that IS scalping period. Charging 100-200% markup is nuts in most cases. I liked that they DID do that Credit card rule (because of security reasons) even though it was a hassle for some, that had partial images on their screens, couldnt get it right away.. etc etc. This credit card rule was and is in place to keep the people safe who might have had a credit card stolen. Happens everyday, even from McDonalds managers who get greedy.(personal experience) You as a business owner/ebayer should agree that wouldn't you want more than one person buying everything and have it sent to 50 different places without question(s)?? AND without fail, every year, my Paypal debit card gets shut off every few hours EVEN THOUGH I just got off the phone with them. Why? simple..Its card owner protection. I question EVERY ebay transaction. ""Please verify your address for any errors""". People do forget to change things. AND people have had accounts hacked. No offense, but hopefully you can see the big picture. ONLINE is NOT the same as IN PERSON

yeah i understand all that stuff happens, but heres the thing im not buying them and then sending other people with my card to pick them up, i will be with them.....so even though the badge, voucher match and those match their ids, and the credit card doesnt....i will be there standing right next to my gf or friend with my id and my cc that match the order. like i said if they can do it at the booth why not online with the preorder? as for the scalping thing, if you think its scalping go right ahead, i dont cuz im charging a fee to cover the cost of a trailer to bring all their stuff back....if i only bought for myself I could fit it all in my car no problem, or box them all up and ship them to myself in 1 box and it would cost me about 30 bucks. thats the thing i help them out and because i do i have to get a trailer, why should i get stuck paying for a trailer that i dont need or use otherwise? and as far as the rules.....again my thing is why can they do it at the booth but not the presale....like i said if i can go up to the cashier at the booth with 2 other people and all 3 of us buy the limit and put it on 1 card, why not with this. I wanted an answer to question quickly because I wanted to plan.....i knew those things would sell out fast and its a lot easier to copy/paste one cc# than to type out 2-3 diff cards....which is what i did, I got my frineds and gfs card # and i placed orders with my card and theirs on their own created accounts. And when we go pick them up theyll have all their id/badges/cc/etc that match......so again it was more about speed in ordering than anything else and not wanting to stay in a 3hr line.... which i will now have to do but whatever i will still get everythign i need anyways.

I agree about costs. But the rules are there for peoples protection jj. and as I stated, one persons scalping is another persons fee. I dont and wont buy a 15.00 concert ticket for 500.00 let alone for 100.00 (thats the scalping theory I meant)

and i agree with that....but you know what if theres a concert and my friend is waiting in line or has to drive far to a venue to buy the tixs, and for some reason i cant go...ill give him extra cash for gas or buy him dinner or something. heck when I hang out with friends i offer to give them cash for gas if they ae the ones driving or I buy them dinner or a drink. See its not like im buying the stuff and then posting that i have figures and adding a mule fee after....see then i would see your point and that would be close to scalping, because the person had all intentions to buy the amount he did. Im not, im posting first saying hey who wants what? and because im getting all this stuff i have to get a trailer so you guys have to help out with that. this is only the second year ive charged a mule fee, and this will be my 8th year going......2 times prior to the last years i had to get trailers and i ate those fees. When i posted that i had to get a trailer and stuff some of the people that I helped offered and gave me extra cash because they understood that the only reason i got one was because of them.....then it dawned on me why should i pay for it when i wouldnt use or need if i just got my stuff.....like i said the last 2 years i started charging and not one person complained about it or called me a scalper.
