Mattel's never going to answer your question. Basically if your not able to get it at the Con then you miss out unless you buy on ebay.

I've encountered plenty of international visitors at Comic-Con. So international fans attending Comic-Con have just as much opportunity to acquire convention exclusives as fans from the United States attending Comic-Con. American fans who do not attend Comic-Con have to rely on eBay just like international fans who do not attend Comic-Con. So suggesting that manufacturers do not want money from international fans is incorrect. quote: Originally posted by Tezcatlipoca: Hi folks!
I don't know if this has been asked before but why is it that you don't offer Plas, color-changing Orko and Starro in your shop? Every year the same old story. If an international customer wants a special comic-con only figure he has to pay twice or thrice as much afterwards on eBay. I'm aware of the fact that comcon figures are supposed to be special and rare but it seems that manufacturers don't want money from international fans.
You needn't have to offer 10 pieces, just one piece per customer. Or just for international buyers. BUT, i'm thankful that you offer some of your comcon figures afterwards in your shop.
Please enlighten me why the rest of the world is mostly unpriviliged.

One item that comes up a lot from multiple international fans is why we do not ship the presale SDCC product and why we can't ship it international for fans not coming to SDCC.
To clear up any details, the presale product is not at Digital River's distribution center to ship. We are selling a "voucher" online which you need to bring to SDCC to pick up the product. We don't actually have the product in a distribution center ready to mail out. It is all going to SDCC and divided up into the presale pickup and the retail booth. quote: Originally posted by Tezcatlipoca: Hi folks!

Well, to me it's a really cheap excuse. They don't have the product at their distribution center? Well then make it happen! If Mattel wants to sell these figures at the shop, they can make it happen if they WANT to. Which they obviously don't. At least they should have the decency to say the truth and not come up with a pretty lame excuse, which is a lie imho.

That's entirely beside the point. You acknowledge these are Comic-Con ONLY exclusives. Why do you feel entitled because you cannot make it to the con? Lots of people can't make it to the con, both in the U.S. and abroad.

First of all i wrote in my first post that i know what exclusives are and what they stand for. And i don't feel entitled, i just can't understand why they offer a bunch of exclusives on Matty and then some not. If they make them available on Matty, why not all of them? And then to say it's a distribution thing? Seems a bit ridiculous to me.

As stated last year with the Gleeks and this year when the SDCC exclusives were announced, they want to keep some items special for con attendees, since many of the exclusives are now available online. quote: And then to say it's a distribution thing? Seems a bit ridiculous to me.
That's a clarification, not a reason. The reason is up above.

Yeah if you want the SDCC exclusive only items then make the trip to San Diego yourself instead of needlessly complaining about it.

Okay, everyone, I think this thread has gone as far as it needs to, and I'm now closing it.
