I dont know if you guys read, but in the Mattel Q&A from around the net for 6/1/2010, someone mentioned the fear of the IH line ending. And mattel replied that they had big plans for the 3 3/4 inch line.
Thats good news to me. I was really worried the 3 inch DC figures were done for. Do you think it will still be the same line, Or will they retool the whole thing? |

Honestly they need and needed retooling from the start. I'm a big fan of this line, but who ever let those big hands go through on the first line should be fired. After seeing Marvels line of 3 3/4 figures they did put DC/Mattel to shame.. and still.
No excuse for the figures they put out early on. And the new ones are limited still.. I loved the line, but what could have been... should have been from the start... |

I just read another Mattel Q&A on another site.
Someone asked if giant 12 inch figures would be added to the IH line. Mattels response was, "IF the infinite heroes line continues that would be a great idea." I hope that just might mean they are quitting the IH theme, but are still planning on making 3 3/4 inch figures. From the comment from the Q&A here on the matty board, it sounds like they do have plans to go forward with 3 inch toys. But it sounds like they might not be Infinite heroes. I really hope the 3 inch DC figures survive. I love them. Hopefully they are just making the figures better and will call the line something different. |

It was announced by Warner Bros. That Mattel will release Young Justice figures. So maybe they will continue with the DC Infinite Heroes style figures but have them branded for Young Justice. Kind of like what they did for the 3.75" Superman/Batman: Public Enemies figures that Target had.
Mattel is also rolling out products inspired by Young Justice, which will premiere on Cartoon Network during the 2010-2011 season. This all-new series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and is based on characters from DC Comics. Featuring a team of teenage heroes, the show brings the popular comic to the small screen with favorites including Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis. Product offerings from Mattel include figures, playsets and other show-inspired lines. |

This could save the 3 3/4 line! **Just re-release Gentleman Ghost with mini-Atom and Giganta piece. Thank you! It is not complete just doing the Gentleman Ghost! |

This line is just shouting out to succeed if Mattel would just listen.

In total agreement. The assortment and the way they are grouping and releasing their Universe Classics line is fantastic. They are even cranking out a Metal Man per line with the last few waves.
Etrigan? Creeper? Original Black Lightning? They seem to be selling like crazy. I can't afford all the big guys, but the small line is perfect for the budgeted buyer. We would eat it up if they'd just get a little creative and maintain product improvements. Imagine a wave as diverse as The Penguin - Chameleon Boy - Looker - Circe and every line can have a two figure pack. Crimson Avenger & Wing Dr. Sivana & Mr. Mind Stanley & his Monster Wonder Twins Swamp Thing & Abby Crane |
