Looking forward to another great year at Comic Con!!! Hope to see the usual crew once again. Any thoughts on this years offering of Toyko Mater? Any ideas on what new Cars items we will see on display?
Cant wait till August 2nd and the matty sale on SDCC items, that's the only way us East Coast folks can purchase them. Besides the Tokyo Mater, the rest of the Cars they have on display at the Con is a total let down. Enough with the Cars Toon Cars, wheres the rest of the Cars from the actual movie? The RVs? Where is the Apple car at?

i cant wait for august 2 as well. im currently debating whether to get one or two of the flock lotso, lol. will definately get mater. only want one though.
I asked in the "Ask Matty" forum if the SDCC Mater was different than the one going up for sale on the web site on August 2nd, and this was the reply I got:

Me, I like the Cars Toons; I think it was a great way to keep the property in the spotlight between movies. A lot of new new molds in this line, too (Cars is the perfect property for Mattel on that count. The Cars stuff extensively re-uses computer models and just "repaints" them, which is the standard Mattel MO on any line. But here, it's actually 100% accurate!). I'm sure the regular line will keep releasing the movie racers, but I can see there might be more interest in Tokyo Mater than in a car that had a few seconds of screen time in the movie.
Mind you, I still want both.
