First off, I have one option to choose from for an avatar (Doc Hudson) out of 118 total. And we as CARS lovers wonder why we feel so under appreciated. Would it have killed you to have added the two MAIN characters: Lightning McQueen or Mater? I know I know I know.....maybe you can offer us 14 different McQueen avatars like in the die-cast line.

Secondly, you give us one exclusive the first year and then WAY over price the last three (1/24th scale McQueen, Mater, and Doc Hudson).

Thirdly, you sell the new Final Lap CARS to only Target (which there is not one within an hour of my house and many many others throughout this country and other countries). If you are going to make a "Final Lap" (run) of these, then please allow everyone (with or without a Target) to have access to them!!

Hey Matty - it would be awesome if we could get a chance to order any and all of the 1:55 diecast Cars, the Team Crew Sets, and the Haulers online and have them shipped to us... I have to travel 150 miles round trip to have access to more than 1 Target (90 miles round trip to one) and it's discouraging to travel that far to come up empty because there's nothing on the pegs/shelves and no one wants to check for anything in the back... or the individual store policy is not to put items out when someone requests...

Agreed. Why not give us the option to add our own attachment for an avatar?

I would like a Toy Story 3 eyed Alien as an Avatar. It's appropriate as Alien is my nickname.

Here in New Zealand we do not have Targets, Walmarts or Toys R Us. (At least we have national retailer that seems to be able to get the Target exclusives... Yay!)
Being able to purchase Cars toys direct from the Mattel website would be great. Ebay and other sources are pretty expensive. At least it would be another option if specific cars cannot be found at local retailers.

All I can say, cac1959, 150 miles, you are lucky! 3.5 hours in a plane to my nearest Target (In Australia!)

It feels like we're the red-headed stepchild of this forums.

The MOTU and Ghosbusters forums are jumping, but hardly anything is going on here.

Maybe if Matty released more for the CARS line- say a to-scale Screaming Banshee with a limited run of 500.

Where's the Love at? Does anyone from matty even listen? Atleast it's nice to know that there are other successful Pixar Car sites dedicated to the Wonderful World of Cars!

People are listening......just not to us. I have received two or three emails talking about other lines "exclusives" just since this thread has began. They must feel that since we are not buying the exclusives they have listed on the site that we are not interested in the CARS line. Totally untrue! We (and I guess I am truly only speaking for myself but am guessing others would join my thought process) are not going to pay a extreme premium price for one CAR. Especially, since the other lines get two or three items in their purchase. I would venture to guess that it will be late March or so before Matty even looks or even dare respond to our thread.

As an "international" collector, I'm completely disillusioned with the whole thing....the Final Lap/Target thing is little more than a joke. If American collectors can't even get hold of them, what chance do we have where there are no Targets?
Alien, mate, I think the exclusives we are getting at The Warehouse are the K-Mart ones, not Target...unless you have found something I haven't??
I've managed to get 3 Final Lap cars from a market in Shanghai, but that is hardly an endorsement of availability.
Matty, old buddy, old pal, you are letting down a bunch of customers who have their enthusiasm for your products rapidly dwindling.

I think the fans of the line need to initiate a shock and awe campaign.

Take video cameras and go to the Target or toy stores. Show them the racks of Lightning McQueens, Ramones and lenticulars choking the aisles.

Show how stock has not been rotated or ordered in several weeks. People could do once a week video logs, show the racks, check if there is stock in the back, and do a 'car count.'

For that matter, someone should pull a Michael Moore, go to Mattel's headquarters and ask for the chance to speak with the people who make these decisions.

I'm almost considering writing a letter to John Lasseter, since CARS the film was his idea, and so much of the line went through his perusal. I have wondered what he thought of some changes such as the lenticulars.

Whoops, you're correct. K-Mart it is. I am getting my chain stores confused.

In any case Mattel does not really care about us down under as our market is so small we are really just a rounding error on the companies global books.

Does Matty even check the forums? I would love to get a response from someone at Mattel as to why they seem to not give a crap about Cars collectors. It's your product that we're wanting to buy Matty. It's simple, give us product, we give you money.
