How come it's been months since it was noted that Target would have the exclusive "Final Lap" Stuff...i found one FL Car about 4 months ago, ONE.

I haven't seen anything else...ever.

The only thing out there anywhere is the stupid moving eye stuff that only interest kids, it's not like kids are even interested in Cars like they were a couple years back.

If Target wont carry these (like they freaking should!) Mattel should start putting the exclusive Cars 1:64 stuff online...immediately.

With this Cars line, it seems like stores are flooded with old stuff (reissued over and over) or stuff we don't want (googly eyes), but anything new and interesting is snatched up right away. If Mattel would just put out more new stuff people wanted to buy, they'd do a lot better in sales. Toy stores absolutely clogged with pegwarmers can't be a good thing, can it?

Does anyone know if the Dragon McQueen that comes with that Tokyo Mater set is diecast or plastic?

I get Cars at Walmart mostly and my Walmarts really over bought on the Rescue Mater line. There are just trays of it piled up on end caps and it is not moving.

Wish I'd picked up the three pack with the Italian racers. Only saw it in WM once and never again. Frowner

My almost five year old still likes the line and we buy new cars when we see them, but I agree, it's hard to find the new stuff. It gets snatched up quickly. My 18 month old also plays with the cars with his brother. I finally found them a new Sarge to replace the one that was recalled.

I agree that it is only getting harder to find cars. Why would you not want to sell more cars? Also why the googly eyes? No one likes them.... Remember that this site is for collectors not for "children", we want to collect these we're not taking them to the bath tub with us....

Very hard to find the classics and now that Target has the exclusives with the final lap stuff the scalpers will have even a better time.

I hate to have my first post on here be negative, but I have to agree with those of us who are upset.

I have not found anything since the first wave of 'Final Laps.' Since right before Thanksgiving, the only other FL I've seen on the shelves was a lone Green Ramone on a FL card last Sunday.

It's sad that almost a year prior, I was enjoying the hunt and at least finding guys like Milton Calypeer on the shelf.

matty we want "MORE" Final Laps and Less Lenti's PLEASE! IMO They're waisting space and taking too much room on the pegs that seem to keep the retailers from replenishing the Cars with new items too!

i echo the sentiments of people here, it was nice to introduce novelty to the cars line but the lenticular fad has to go. my littleone won't even bother playing with them and mattel folks can check the pegs of retail stores that these are non-moving merchandise.

please mattel, we just want the cars with their original eyes.

Based on information received from others or managers at Target, part of the problem is the automatic re order system. One of my four local Targets is on their third order of Case D of Final Laps, while another Target has not seen the first order. That store has an abundance of Case C on the pegs. Apparently the computer will not ship any more Final Laps until the others are sold. Of course, there is no way to differentiate between the individual castings. So, as long as the pegwarmers continue to accumulate, that store will received zippo. Of course, any toy retailer looking to make $$$ should stock multiple cases of Final Lap (i.e., cases A,B,C and D, etc). Retailers are afraid of ordering stagnant inventory. Remember Speed Racer?? As to the consumer, I think Cars has had its ride and Cars are now assuming the status of any other toy/collectible. If you like it, you buy it. Cars is no longer the "Hot" toy. Remember zhu zhu pets? Bids on eBay up to $50 for Jilly. Now every store in my area from Target to Hallmark are stuck with an abundance of those fast breeding rodents. I just came back from my local Big Lots are there are scores of Todd (pizza truck) hanging on the pegs along with a host of once hard to find castings. Mattel needs to rethink the case assortments and market different cases for different type retailers and collectible shops. The main characters for novice collectors in one assortment. Racers in a different assortment, etc. The shelf life of these castings is much too short.

I would love to see a Target with an abundance of Final Laps that can't move.

This weekend, I visited 7 different Target stores, and the most they had regarding Final Laps were about 5 on the pegs...though they were either The King, Lightning McQueen, or Radiator Springs Lightning McQueen.

Target had no qualms about packing lots of lenticulars or color-changers on the pegs, but seems to think that Final Laps are not worth it.

I never have seen any Case B or C's on the shelves, and came across one Target that had some cases in the back but hadn't brought them out. My assumption was they were Case D's.

I'm already getting snarky and figuring that I probably won't see any sign of a supposed Case E until June.

I found the McQueen with the Collector's Guide at TRU today. It's pretty cool, but from looking through the book, all Mattel is releasing are Lenticulars (yuck!), Chase cars, and Cars Toons stuff.

How about new cars from the movie? Why does is seem to be so hard to find them? Nothing but the same old stuff everywhere, and way way too may lenticulars. One Target near me didn't have any Final Lap Cars left at all. I don't know what their business plan is with this line now. Maybe they just want it to die off?
