I've been reading all the posts and have noted some of the figures that people have been asking for. I myself love the Movie Masters line. I wish it was as expansive as the DC Universe Classics and DC Superheroes lines that I also collect.
Since the first two waves of Dark Knight figures contained about three to five figures, maybe Matty could take the 3 figures with the most votes from each movie to make sometime in the future (here's hoping this works). I figure, maybe the problem is that Matty is getting too much feedback on what fans want. SO here's an organized way to get Matty's attention. Vote for the figure you'd wish to see from each movie (choices are based solely on what I've read in the threads and some of my own personal suggestions; if you don't recognize some of the names, look them up): |

Voted. Pity we can only choose one for each section.
I'd be happy with a few waves spread out like this, Wave 1 - 1989 Batman - 1989 Joker - Bob the Goon - Unmasked Batman chase Wave 2 - Returns Batman - Penguin - Catwoman - Unmasked Batman chase Wave 3 - Forever Batman - Forever Robin - Forever Two-Face Wave 4 - The Riddler - Max Shreck - Ras Al Ghul |

I like your picks. Especially Bob the Goon. I voted for some obscure characters that I don't will ever be made.
My top 3 picks are Bob the Goon (here's hopin), The Neon Gang Leader (Batman Forever, the guy Grayson fights to defend the girl), and Arkham Inmate Mr. Zsasz (he was in the movie and is a legit villain... he should have a figure by now... then again, neither does Ra's... in any form) My wish list: Wave 1 Batman (1989) Bob the Goon The Joker The Joker (Jack Napier chase; w/o make-up) Wave 2 Batman Batman (unmasked chase; from the end of the movie when he tears his mask off) The Penguin in Suit and Top hat The Organ Grinder Wave 3 Bruce Wayne Catwoman Catwoman (Battle Ravaged chase; with suit torn up) Max Shreck The Ice Princess Wave 4 Batman (Kilmer) Robin Riddler Two-Face Wave 5 Ra's Al Ghul Mr. Freeze Mr. Zsasz Eh, I can hope, can't I? Oh, and I almost forgot Jason Woodrue the Floronic Man from Batman & Robin. First of all, because it's John Glover (of Lionel Luthor fame); second of all, because he's a legit villain from DC Comics (though obscure); and third of all, because he would look so cool, with his hair all stickin up like a Dr. Frankenstein wannabe! |

Wish there was a choice for Gordon in his business suit in The Dark Knight so I could've picked Alfred for Batman Begins and Gordon for The Dark Knight. Don't have any interest in Gordon in SWAT gear, although it makes sense that he would be made that way. I know they would never do it, but it would be cool to make one Rachel Dawes figure with a Katie Holmes head and a Maggie Gyllenhall head. It might cut down costs, but I guess it could be a bummer for people who want a Katie Rachel and a Maggie Rachel.
I would LOVE to see a Christopher Walken figure. I'd buy that in an instant. This was fun. Thanks for doing this! Would LOVE to see a DK Commissioner Gordon figure. |

I voted in all categories, but honestly, I'd like to see the MM line just stay with the Batman Begins and Dark Knight theme. I wish they would make evrything listed in the Begins and Dark Knight lists.
I really hope they are able to continue this through Mattycollector |

I really like to see it expand to the Superman Movies. I really want a Reeve and Routh Superman.

My biggest hope for this line is that it simply does not die. I can already feel the dust settling and it makes me sad. From the looks of things, Matty has acquired the likeness rights to Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and Terrance Stamp (unless this is only for the 12" line; does it work that way???)
So... Yeah.... And almost forgot: Aaron Eckhart |

I’d like to see the Movie Masters line continue with Batman. It would be awesome to have each of the four actors who played Batman represented. I would even like to have an Adam West Batman if they want to do figures based on the 1966 Movie.
The Dark Knight and Batman Begins are well covered let's see the first four Batman films have figures made for them as well. |

^ Totally agree.Would be good to get a Keaton version Batman MM,especially in the Returns suit. And could you imagine how great a MM Adam West/Burt Ward Batman and Robin would look. Not to mention a Cesar Romero Joker.

Only being allowed to vote once in each category really kind of voids the voting for me. I mean, who would want a line of Batman figures without Batman himself? You need at least one Batman from every film since the costumes changed significantly each time.
But just for the record, I'd buy every single character Mattel would make from Batman and Batman Returns, in any scale. |

I only really NEED two more characters made from this line for my collection to be complete:
Commissioner Gordon (Batman Begins/Dark Knight, in his trench coat) Ra's Al Ghul (Liam Neeson, both in his suit, and in his armor at the end). If they make those two characters then I will be complete. Check out my Webcomic, Mint Condition, updating every Tuesday and Friday! Vote for Mint Condition on TopWebComics! |

A few thoughts:
First, I doubt Movie Masters will continue. It's definitely not going to go on at retail, unless TRU is absolutely THRILLED with the sales of the exclusive final wave. Without retail support, the line would be very limited as far as new tooling goes, and the limited selection is what basically sank the line at retail to begin with. Second, I doubt it will continue on Matty now that upcoming releases are alreadt showing up at TRU before the appear on Matty and cheaper. Outside of international sales, the sales on the last few figures are likely to be dismal, and we all know the end result. "Sales dropped dramatically for the last figures in the line, so we can't justify continuing with it." As for the 60's Batman stuff, I would face a thousand White Screens of Doom to get an Adam West Batman, but there's no chance of that as far as I can see. The vehicle rights from the series don't all lie with the studios, as I understand it, and thus we've seen the '66 Batmobile and such. THe rights are tied up between Fox, who made the series, and Warner, who now owns the property (Warner bought DC in the 70's, well after the series was made). Fox apparently has full rights to the movie (apparently the contract for that was different in some way), but the series is up in the air as the two studios refuse to blink. So, as far as I can see, Mattel could only do the characters from the movie, and only if they got the rights from Fox, if any of that is actually possible at all. It wouldn't be bad, as you could get Bats, Robin, Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler, but folks like Batgirl and the other villains would be out (a Victor Buono King Tut would make me faint dead away upon first sight of it). Much as I prefer the 70's Bats overall, West and company were the Batman I grew up on, and the '66 Batman movie was the first movie I ever saw as a child, so I do hope someday the studios will realize that no one is getting anything out of the series as things stand, and someone has a sudden attack of common sense and makes an agreement to allow the issue to be resolved. |

I can only choose one from each movie? Awwww man!
It was a tough choice for me between Keaton Batman and Nicholson Joker. I didn't even care who I really chose for Batman Forever or Batman & Robin. Everyone knows those are the garbage films. I don't think Superman Returns should ever have figures made. It was awful. Just awful. REEVE. IS. SUPERMAN. |
