The vehicle rights are a bit different, as they were in the movie and the Batmobile rights are at least in part owned by its designer. That's easier than procuring likeness rights from all the actors and sorting through loads of other legalities. Plus we'd need to wait for Fox or Warners to blink for the basic show rights, which, given the maturity levels we've seen from major media companies in the past, seems highly unlikely anytime in the near future. It's a shame, as I grew up with the Batman TV show and the movie was the very first film I ever saw at a theater. I would snatch figures of any of the characters up without hesitation, and would likely faint dead away at the reveal of a King Tut figure (Tut-tut was my absolute favorite TV villain, played to campy perfection by Victor Buono).

This would be great! I'd buy these up. I always watched the Batman TV series when I was little. No I'm not that old. It was on in syndication I have been wating for this series on DVD for a long time. I try not to buy TV on DVD anymore but this is one that I'd grab up in a heartbeat.
