Mattel has announced nothing past Two-Face which will be the last MattyCollector figure for awhile.
There has been speculation that Mattel might do the other Batman films in Movie Masters scale, but nothing has been revealed as yet. Maybe we'll see something from SDCC, but I doubt it. |

They did say on Attack of the Show that they would be releasing info on the 3rd Batman movie in July, probably at Comic Con. So, hopefully they mention something about the toy line as well. I really hope they continue the MM line in this scale for the future Batman movies.
It would be sweet if they made some other batman Begins and Dark Knight figures in between now and the next movie which is slated for 2012. |

I just want them to FINALLY give us a keaton batman in this scale with all the articulation that comes with it. They could do a Nickolson joker and even bob the goon. They could do the other movies and we would buy them all, or at least i would.

Yeah, that would be great but I doubt it ever happens. Even if this last Toys R Us/Matty exclusive wave turns out to be a big success (which, judging by all this activity and sell outs, it is). I mean really, if Mattel can make other old film toys lines like Superman (12" Superman and Zod) and those crappy Ghostbusters. If they have all these Hot Wheels Batman 1989 and Returns themed waves. If DCD, Medicom, Sideshow and all these other companies are jumping on this Batman 1989/75th DC Anniversary wagon, I don't see why Mattel can't. An online exclusive wave of figures from the older Batman films would be great and surely sell. I see it everywhere. "WHEN IS HOT TOYS GOING TO MAKE A KEATON BATMAN." "WHEN IS MATTEL FINALLY GOING TO MAKE A 6" KEATON BATMAN?" Yet, there is nothing and there probably won't be for a long, long time. The Fourhoresmen and other Mattel employees made it sound like it was going to be a natural progression into the older films, hence MOVIE MASTERS. I think at one point the horsemen were interested in making a Devito Penguin. Nope instead we see Ghostbusters Movie Masters, Avatar Movie Masters, and 12" Superman Movie Masters (even though everyone wants 6" versions). I'm not even upset, bitter, or disappointed with Mattel. I'm just wondering what the **** they're up to sometimes. |

I would love to see Movie Masters figures of the First Batman movie and the 2nd.... probably not the rest though.
Definitly want to see Chris Reeve get a supes figure. ------------------------------------ Mattel, please stop making articulated copies of the original MOTU toys as a rule and only use old elements that still hold up to today's standards. |

It does not necessarily mean the line is over. They main issue is probably the likeness of the actors in costume. Actors sometimes get approval/licensing rights to their likeness and if Keaton does not approve then the figure never gets made. I’m sure most if not all of the actors involved had sign such approvals when their particular film was out so the figures that were made could be released. Do they want to do it again for Movie Masters?
It would be Batnirvana to have 6” Movie Master figures of West, Keaton (both versions), Kilmer and Clooney to go along with Bale. Even better would be to have in scale animated versions of Superfriends, BTAS, TNBA, Batman Beyond, JLU, The Batman and Batman Brave and the Bold, but that may be too much to hope for. |

I am all for them doing the old Batman Movies and Christopher reeves Superman Movies in Movie master 6 inch form.
But i would be more than satisfied if just for now they did Movie masters figures of what we know they can do Which is Batman begins and dark Knight I would love Dr. Jonathan Crane Nurse joker Ras Al Gouhl Alfred The other Joker Thugs Lucius Fox Rachel Bruce Wayne Hopefully they can keep going with the Dark Knight Movie Masters. and I hope the upcomming batman film breathes new life into the line |

I'm hoping this line goes on for awhile too. Aside from the few misses (Scarecrow/glow-in-the-dark Batman) I've loved this line.

This is a great line and one which I'm more interested in investing in than MotU Classics now.

It's likely done for several reasons:
Too many figures of too few characters killed the line at retail; TRU was convinced to carry the last wave as an exclusive, but that apparently was up in the air for a while. We got these figures mainly because there had already been costly work done in their development; the molds may well have already been made. It was in Mattel's interest to get these out if not just to recoup the costs of bringing them as far as they did. Any new figures would be started from scratch. Re-use, the end all and be all of any Matty line. With this line, there was a lot of re-use over the range of figures. You might be able to get Gordon by adding a trenchcoat, but anything beyond that or a Bruce Wayne would likely require a lot of new tooling. Going back into the other films as was once proposed would be costly. Keaton Bats, Reeve Supes and their foes would require a lot of new, non-reusable tooling. That, more than anything else, would likely sink any chance of seeing more. Look at Ghostbusters for a good guide of what a non-MOTU line will look like here; two figures out of 6 a year won't be Buster re-dos; we've already seen lab coat Ray, and we'll likely see the others done the same way (minus Winston, of course). This is going to be the hallmark of any line here. It works with MOTU because it worked wit the original line, but other lines are definitely going to be drastically limited because of it. |

I don't agree............I don't want to be depressed for the rest of the day.
