I have to agree with you Arkangel. I have a major problem with Mattel and how they pander to the scalpers. You see "rocky" is a scalper that has no qualms about ripping people off, I know because I am one of his victims. Also he will have no problem saying/admitting that.

The fact that Mattel is OK with others making more off of their products than they do, is somewhat troubling and the fact that they are willing to make a bunch of fans mad to keep a few scalpers happy is also troubling.

This line is awesome, but Mattel and the scalpers are doing their best to ruin it. But that is nothing new in this world. As long as the scalpers and Mattel make their money, they are not gonna care about the true fans that keep MOTU alive. They just see green, kinda the same way corrupt politicians do.

It's not always complaining, but you know what? The people on these boards made MOTU what it is today, we are all supporters of the new line, we made it happen and going strong, and if some complain is because they want to get the product they support, otherwise why would there be complains?

You never had a problem? Good for you, unfortunately I and loads of other people can't say the same, neither can the ones that wait a whole month or more for a 3 minute sell out window. This is a problem, people discuss it, it is not your problem? Again, good for you, move along rocky.

If I don't have a problem every 15th of the month then no one should either. I'm no more special than anyone else. The problem is too many people that complain wants things to be handed to them without putting any effort into it. Sorry, sad but true.

Are talking about the same site? With RSOD's and WSOD's ? It's not a matter of effort, nor skill, nor how fast you click, sometimes is just impossible, maybe you have a sub?

Well, you are quite fortunate. Many of us were online when Mossy went on sale and could not even snag one.

Figures are made to the set amount of subscribers and then whatever is left goes to the general sale for the non-sub holders which is not that many. That's why they can't offer subs year-round. It's not ridiculous at all. What you're wanting is asking Mattel to turn rocks into gold, it's not going to happen.[/QUOTE]

I see no reaosn in your post why subscriptions cannot be offered yearround. If there is a two- or three-month lag in getting the first figure, fine. But offering a subscription for such a small period of time is not doing any service to fans, especially people who started collecting after the subscriptions went off sale. It's like Mattel doesn't want more people to buy the figures. But you get what you want, so this doesn't really concern you, right?

That's the reason because figures are made to how many subscriptions are out there. And then they make a small allotment for the general sale. To offer subscriptions year-round would mean there would be none for a general sale. Also it takes 8 months to bump up production in figures and mattel doesn't seem to trust digital river with implement a year-round subscription. If you got into the line after the subs were offered then you'll have to just do a number of things:

1. Wait for when the 2011 sub is offered in 2011
2. Go online for the general sale around the 15th of every month.
3. Purchase on the secondary market or trade for figures you need.

Unfortunately those are the only options to those who don't have a sub. Sorry but that's just how it is.

MintCondition, he(balboabucs1994) means MOTUC not the whole thing(all things MOTUC) on his post. And while at one point it was suppose to be a 6 figure limited line(it was planned until HOrdak) things changed along the way.

This line will hit retail at one point or another, that DCUC Vs MOTUC is just the start of retail testing that Mattel is doing. I dont believe they would leave it as it is. As much as I would like it to be exclusive on Mattycollector, the reality is that at retail they can earn more money then they are with us...its just a matter of time before this whole line goes to retail.

In my opinion this will be something that could go like this, they would release characters that we had for a year. Matty can be 2 years a head in figures while retail starts the distribution and they can release between 6-10 figures per year and they can add the quarterlies to those figures. Now many would say "thats too small of a number" remember that playsets, vehicles, and repaints of figures would be done too. Not to mention that every year the line would grow in numbers and such number(6-10) is not so bad since in wave 2 you could sprinkle it with two or four figures from wave one that proved to be the must popular.

This is just an idea from a fan, I bet TG and his team have come up with much better ones then this. All I have to say is that its just a matter of time before something like this or remotely close happens for MOTUC ^_^

Please don't speak for me or anyone else and please just speak for yourself. You're painting yourself to be a wannabe moderator on here. So unless it's coming for toyguru or the others mods then please don't try to explain what I was saying in my responses because you're not intepreting them like how I want them to be stated.

LoL..look who is talking, the guy how thinks he is an authority here...Please Balboa, take your corporate attitude and shove it where ever flocking doesnt shine. Im not running here to be any sort of MOD and if that is what you think, its what you think and not what I am trying to do. and your sentence "This line was never meant to be mass-market produced" is something that was stated not by you, but by Toy Guru himself so please if I explained that sentence for MintCondition and other points its nothing for me to take in to interpretation since its something said and cleared out by the officials many times...dont take credit for statements made by a company, just because I was trying to clear what the meaning behind the sentence doest mean I care to read or interpret your post since that would a true waste of my time.

Just because I post a more articulate and compassionate response, doesnt mean I have to be uptight jerk like you...which I dont care if you think your not..to many here your that and more.

Toy Guru made those comments in many Q&A's so please if TG has to personally come in to clarify what he has stated several times, it would be just to waste his time. So in other words dont go thinking that he has to come in a rephrase whats been said just so that its official here in the forums because unless its done, its not true for you.

"Yes..that is good counsel, but you know how I hate bad news" words of wisdom from the mighty Hordak ^_^

Really don't care what people think about me. For all I care these people are just as the same forum as me. I help my collecting friends with hard to find exclusive items at SDCC. Just because I don't help a total stranger begging me for help year in, and year out doesn't make me a jerk. It's just that I don't help people I don't know and they're only sucking up to me hoping I'd hook them up. I've been a collector for over 15 years and I collect fine without begging other people.

Your the one that wishes and prays that mattel would come back to your precious nycc because you just live right there. Sorry man but mattel isn't coming back to pr at nycc. Look at c2e2, they won't even have reps at their booth. That shows that why bother wasting their time at minor cons when they can go all out at the biggest one around, SDCC. People hate me because I have a collection they wish they had. That's called jealousy and envy and I'm proud of the hard to acquire items I've accumulated in the past. You think jealousy and e-wars on a message board is going to do anything to me? All it's going to do is make me laugh, over and over and over and over again. Don't you're the wannabe mod without the official title on here. Stop trying to be like BRUTICUS, Eve of Destruction, etc... it's not going to happen.
