so this a question i've had kicking around in my head for quite a while... how tough would you all say the masters of the universe are (restricting this, obviously, to the 200X universe) cuz these guys, the non-he-man guys, are punching each other distances that appear to be in excess of 20-30 yards per punch, they toss themselves headlong off cliffs, fly through large boulders while pushing each other, and other feats of surreal strength.
so, do we assume there's an alien physics at work, and the regular people are just like people here on earth? (the geology would also be weird, right?) are they themselves all "super-powered" and he-man is just jacked up way beyond their already vast might? if you unleashed the masters in the "established" comic book continuities, would they own everyone? i know, superman and he-man had a short tussel a long time ago... but that was before 200x, where he-man was tossing mountains and splitting 80 story tall snake gods in half like it wasn't no thing... before teela could kick wonder woman across 6 city blocks. would the JL fall at the hands of skeletor? could the x-men fell the Horde? what do y'all think? personally, i lean that the masters are all super tough in a world that accomidates their tremendous might. in other words, eternian physics are different than earths, but the masters are all *** kickers too. and yes, i think the horde would trounce the x-men, and the justice league would get slaughtered... after all, the jl two primary powerhouses, superman and batman, would be like little girly men... superman can't fight magick and batman knows didly squat about eternian tech... who would expect a swordsman to shoot lasers out of his eye? I'm in the spring of my discontent. |

Each character is a Master of the Universe in his own respect. In this sense, the Masters of the Universe are like the New Gods.

ok... but if exported, could they TAKE the new gods? cuz i have be real, i think he-man would stomp darkseid. oh, he might get beaten once, but then we'd get dark-armor he-man and the asshanding would be at hand.

He-Man is the most powerful man in the universe, but darkseid isn't a man. Once you throw in the dark-armor or omega-armor or what have you, though, I guess all bets are off.

exactly... he-man is kind of the goku of motu (that's trademarked, BTW) you might beat him once, but when he comes back (and he always comes back), he'll come back w/ a new look, some nifty new powers, and and itching to stomp a mudhole in somebody and walk it dry.

He-Man is the strongest man in HIS universe, but he still pales in comparison to Superman.

how many gods has superman killed?
i agree that superman seems to have a more broad based power, but he-man constantly gets mission-specific upgrades and so far, has been proven the better of evey foe he's faced. how many times has superman died? and correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't one of superman's great weaknesses magic? and isn't almost EVERYTHING in the 5 dimensions run on magic? so, on earth, he-man might have a tough time, but on eternia? supes is a dead man. by all means though, this is supposed to be a fun geeky "what if" thread, so if you can make the case for a superman win, do it man! i look forward to it. personally, if i were pairing a superhero off to battle he-man, i'd go spider-man. he regularly fights guys way out of his power league, yet creatively finds ways to outmatch his opponents... he isn't weak against magic or anything and he'd look badassed on ambrosia! I'm in the spring of my discontent. |

I think the Eternians might be the equivalent of the New Gods or The Asgardians, who can normally ALL lift 30-35 ton range.
I think ALL Eternians have some measure of super strength, density and resistance to injury, but the toy characters have exceptional power. |

awesome comic dude, i guess i missed that one!! that certainly paints them as potent, doesn't it? that's adam and teela tossing and flossing w/ a barbell that looks like it weighs 100 pounds! not he-man, adam!! that's his goofy wimpy persona!!

I think it's probably closer to One Piece than the New Gods. Normal people exist, but even their capabilities are above and beyond those on Earth.

My observations of retail lead me to believe certain characters can work at mass market but mainly I just want an Anarky figure, monthly series costume. I hope the Venture Bros. 3" line goes through- it'd be awesome to have them as alternate pilots for Voltron. MOTUC is awesome. |

I've always been of the mindset that Eternia's moons and increased gravity is why everyone seems to be in such fit condition. I would also think that this kind of gravity would increase their overall physical well being to those of say how Marvel makes their gods of Asgard. Where there bones, muscle tissue and everything is 2 to 4 times that of a reular midgarder.
