Not at all, I started collecting them, and I'm so happy that I did, cause I get them rather cheap, and I even managed to collect half of all NECA stactions! I greatly prefer 200x design of most MOTU characters.

I came across Zodak,Fisto,General Rattlor & Kobra Khan earlier this week. I see the value for these figures are dropping everyday. I paid $32 MOC for all 3. So cheap but excellent deal!!

I don't think it's a reflection so much on the line as it is a lack of recognition. The 2002 line never had a chance, either toy or cartoon, to really embed itself in people's minds. Only the real die hards tend to know it even existed. The 80's series and line did embed themselves into po culture in a lasting way; 2002 could have done the same if it had actually had a chance. An indifferent network and a disastrous marketing strategy prevented that.

I still love these figures and have them displayed and would kill to get a Faker or Keldor (the only two I am missing at this point) I recently got an Ice-armor He-man and Ice-armor Skeletor (two of the best looking figures) and I opened my He-man and his arm busted off! I was so sad about this because these are just such great figures! Luckily the arm kind of stays in underneath the shoulder pad. There are of course figures that are cheap but I think for the most part this is still a desired line to collect.

One thing is for sure MOTUC does NOT stink!

I have Almost Every Figure for this line.
Some Stacticons
Toy Fare Exclusives
& All 3 DVD Season Sets .
Extra's of my Favorites too.
I even have She-Ra .

It pains me that these are so cheep right now, for the Most Part.
Most of the Re-designs were Fantastic, and a Character like Adam, finally looked cool. The Indepth Origin Stories of the Toon was some Fantastic stuff.

If Mattel decided to do another line in the 200x style I would be dropping MOTUC in a heartbeat. I only collect those because there is just nothing else MOTU out there. I find the line boring and predictable. For the first time in 30 years I am concidering giving up on a MOTU line, which is pretty sad imo. Frowner

I don't collect 200x figures but you can find them for cheap if you look. I think "collectors" bought them up when they first came out and now can't unload them so the prices have dropped. You guys know what I mean by "collectors".

I am in the minority here but I just started collecting MOTU again, and I actually prefer these to the new CLASSICS. Don't get me wrong the CLASSIC series overall is pretty cool, but I like the overall style of these better. I loved the 2002 cartoon and wish it would have continued, but at least I can pick up most of these figures from both Mattel and Neca pretty cheap. I only have 14 so far, but I plan on getting at least 1 figure of every character they made. Just got the Moss Man figure and love it!!!! Smiler
