I mean in an overall collectable sense, not to demean some nice sculpts and fun characters.

I was too old to get into the original He-Man show, but was just getting seriously into figure collecting when the 200X toys came out. My primary interest in figure collecting nowadays is DCUC, but I'm still sitting on a bunch of carded toys I bought back in my "grab everything cool" days. MoTU was a large part of that, but since the series was discontinued long before we got a complete roster, I find having all those figures is kinda pointless.

With that in mind, I checked eBay to see if these things were selling at all. With a few exceptions, like ToyFare exclusives, they don't seem to be selling. At least, none of the figures I know I still have, loose and carded. So has demand for these fallen to the point that selling them will cost me more in effort than the return in $$? It's a speculative question, I don't think there's a definite answer.

I still like them alot. I just snagged a Snake Teela today for $10 so I guess demand has died a lot for them. I'm happy to get her as now the only ones I am missing is King Hsss and that armored He-Man from the end of the line.

I bought nearly the whole line a few years ago at a Seattle ComiCon for an average of $2 each. They were all still packaged too. My son was with me and after the con we took them home and tore them open. It was so much fun!

He's moved on to other things now though, so I'll be putting them up on eBay here soon so be forwarned. :-)

Jim, that WOULD be a fun time! I always enjoy it when I can tear into a bunch of any given line at one time. The huge pile of cards and bubbles is always a welome sight.

Fortunately, "deserving" a toy isn't a qualification you have to meet prior to purchase. People change their minds about what they like to collect, and as I said, sitting on an incomplete collection that will remain so is pointless IMO.

I actually don't have any 200x figures, but I've strongly considered (and still am) either giving up Classics for these or collecting both. While I grew up with the original show, I'm really into the 200x and prefer the designs and the characters over their original counterparts. And of course the sculpts are amazing.

Honestly I think the only thing that's keeping me from getting into the 200x line is the fact that I'll want them all...and a few of the later NECA stactions go for $60-80 a piece.

I actually don't have any of the 200x figures, although I did buy alot of them back when they were first coming out. My dad and I bought and resold them. I never kept any for myself but I wish I did. Now I've started trying to collect them for myself. I just paid $10 for He-Man and Sheletor still in the package. I'm going to open them though because I love to pose and display my figures. I'm going to try and collect more of the 200x figures since they are fairly cheap now.

I think demand for them has dropped considerably so you may not be able to make much money off of them. But if you're looking to buy and collect them, now is the time because you can find them for great prices.

I love the figures from the 200X series- back when they were coming out my brother and myself collected every figure we could. Most of the time we opened one and left one in the box. We got two castle Grayskulls to put together to make it actually look like the castle. I wish that Mattel wasn't considering the 200X line/style dead.

I wanted the show during the 80's, but I was rather young and did not remember them. I love the 200X series.

In a nutshell, yes. Most the 200X figures don't go for much. A lot of them never did. The problem is that the rare weres one always rare. They still retain some of that value.

But it has a lot less to do with the value of the line and more to do with the limited quantities that the ****ed things were made.

I bought them all when they were in the stores, and sometimes it took a while to find certain ones, I even opened cases on walmart's floor to check for a figure I needed Wink

But now, they are all boxed up except for a He-Man & Skeletor and the 200x Castle, needed to make room for the Classics and other vintage items.

But I wont sell them, maybe someday Ill make room for them again. Meh.
