first sorry for mi english is no mi lenguage ,i hope you understand me.
i'm very tired to read in .org or other site that "he-man and the masters of the universe" 200x tv series failure .i know it no worked well in u.s.a ,but u.s is no "the world" or "the wolrdwide" .
in the rest of the world 200x tv series worked very well ,it had a strong audencie in place like europe ,japan , sudamerica(where i from)and also others countries.
maybe it failure in u.s but in the rest of the world it worked well .
then 200x tv series has to be remembered as a series that not all failure.

True dude. I am from Canada, and it had a prime Saturday morning spot on our big cartoon/youth network. Fingers crossed for a animated movie, to continue the saga.

I loved the show & was mad that they cancelled it just after 39 episode. I live in the US. They did overload alot of stores with He-Man/Skeletor figures not so much of the other characters. I hope that they do continue with the cartoon series where in season 4 the evil horde would had came back with She-Ra.

I agree with you!
I still wonder why Mattel canceled the toys and the series all of a sudden without any explanation. I think it was because it did not make the enormous amounts profits they expected in the USA. Mattel is an international corporation; and they're all interested in making more money just like movie studios. Razzer

Many toys and TV shows made for children make it better internationally than in their native soil.

I don't think in terms of the story and art technique that the 200X series was a failure. I think it did really well and tied in allot of loose ends and unknown begginings of the characters and introduction of new ones as well. I think for the time and place that the show came out maybe kids just were not into it the same we we adult collectors were when we were as kids. I think depending on trends in toy and cartoon culture there's a time and place for MOTU to re-assert itself to gain a foothold with the kids again.

I think the 200X series was absolutely awesome!!! I was really disappointed when it was cancelled. I'm sure it cost alot of money to make. I would have loved to see what was coming in the series. The Evil Horde as the main bad guys for season 3 would have been off the charts!!! I think that with all of the interest with MOTUC's right now, they could sell a DVD release/s of a continuation of the story and sell them like hot-cakes!!!

Long Live MOTUC's!

I never saw the series on the air, however I did buy almost all of the toys ( My fav is the 12" Skeletor). I finally got around to buying the set on dvd and it was awesome, all the waty to episode 39. A relaunch movie to wrap up that series and start a new one would be amazing.

I think the time was off over in the US, If the ever bring it back they need to put it on the Cartoon Network. They could learn a lot from Star Wars: Clone Wars

I seem to remember the cartoon in the US never had a set time slot. I could never keep up with it. This was before DVR's were prevalent so it made watching the show rather annoying.

I agree, but a prime example other than HE-MAn...Max Steel didn't do so well after Sept. 11th here in the U.S. but internationally he still is going strong (they even continued with animation for Max Steel). So here's to hope that He-Man will make an animated return.

The show and the toys were a success in Canada. I was so sad when the show and toys got canceled. I remember toys R us employees saying they never saw so many grown men come into the store every week to buy he-man. It sold. Mattel should just continue the show and the toy line.

The bad part of your statement mmartino2 is the "grown men" part. I was in charge of six toy stores during that time frame and the only people I ever saw buy MOTU were the older collectors. I just don't think that incarnation of MOTU clicked with kids. And as we all know most retail toy lines need a healthy dose of kids buying it to keep it going.

Cartoon Network was what killed off the 2002 series in the first place. They kept changeing the show from Friday nights to Saturday nights and so on. So, if the show DOES ever come back, don't put it on CN PLEASE!!!

Lets break that Speed record!
