These have started showing up at Toys R Us. I saw Sinestro, Superman, Green Lantern. I really want to pick these up but 20.00 seems a bit steep. I'm really wondering how much of a hard time they're going to have unloading these. I really like them, I do but I don't know if they still have a place in today's market. It takes the appreciation of an individual like myself to really want to pay that kind of money for what a casual consumer might consider a toy that looks like it was made for yesteryear. If they don't have the market for it, I see failure in the future. 20 bones seems too much if you ask me.

Toys today in general are pricey! I collect Star Wars too and it is almost ten bucks for a small figure! I think if the quality of the end product was better it wouldn't be that bad. However, you spend 20 something dollars get it home and see that it flops overs and sags at the waist....that is when pricing issues really get me! Who really thinks it is fair to pay 20 bucks for a head and clothes that need to be plopped onto a working body?

Its amazing to me that retailers and toy companies still continue to hike prices despite the economy. I've heard somewhere that toys are usually some of the best selling items when in economic depressions. Apparently the thought on that is that toys help distract kids when parents are going through difficult times.

Despite the poor quality bodies, the San Diego area TRU's were sold out last week. I'd buy a Supes but not for $20.

They are too fragile to take out of the package. That's a BIG problem if they ever expect to get anywhere with this line. There's a ton more loose collectors than there are in package ones. Plus last time I checked, kids still love playing with their toys.

The price doesn't bother me, but the unstable waist does. Maybe the could go with a waist like the Marvel Legends figures or one with a pin type system like many of the 1/6 scale figures. The packaging is disappointing to me. The faded look and thin card just doesn't do it for me. I have figures from the original 70's Mego line and the cards were thick and sturdy.

The unstable waist makes me hoppin mad! It ruined all of the figures that I have. The costume is so tight it actually helps the waist from wobblin..so it looks better in the package than it does when it is removed! You keep hearing about how this problem will be fixed...yet Mattel has never openly addressed this design flaw or responded to any of the unhappy consumers.

Haven't seen them yet in NYC. I'm not too worried, as I'm only buying the Batman related characters, so that means nothing until Wave 2...

Just picked up Sinestro. Finished my set. I'm keeping them in their packages so I don't mind all of the horror stories about the weak bodies. They look great in the package! I hope they wind up changing the background color of the backer cards for each series like they did in the 70's!

Actually, the color changes on the cards were by character, not series, and they seemed fairly random (pink/fuchsia for Batman?!?!?).

So far, my TRU is almost through its second shipment of the figures, with only 3 left yesterday. This isn't exactly a major hub for collectors around here, so that's a good sign for this line.

I'm really liking this line, and hope to see it really expand and give us some characters we haven't seen get the mego style treatment yet.
