Totally off topic, but where did you hear this? To me, the only Steve Austin is bionic, not a wrestler, so I've waited for this for years. Universal straightened out things after letting their rights to the "Cyborg" novel (the book by Martin Caiden the series was based on) lapse?

If true, I've wanted an 8" line based on this property since the original Megos were out. Had the 12" stuff, but I so wanted Steve to team up with the Justice League.

I've been waiting for the Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman dvds for years too. Was happy to see the news in early April that they're coming soon. As far as toys though......would kinda prefer something closer to the old Kenner Bionic toys. But heck - I know I'd buy them in 8" form too - esp if they had some cool bionics.

I'd be all over Lone Ranger stuff

Series 1
LR in red/black/ Generic Goon
Tonto/ little Dan Reid

Series 2
Butch Cavendish / pre-LR Texas Ranger
LR in classic Blue/ Generic Cavalry guy

Series 3
Green Hornet / Kato
Tonto (in some different outfit)/ Old prospector

There.....the hard work is done. Get on it Mattel! And the horses can be Matty exclusives.

I think Big Jim, originally 9 inches, would be great at 8 inches, especially with a Big Jim-esque body. That would lead the way to an 8 inch MOTU line!!

These would make me freak out with excitement:

Hanna Barbara Heroes (Thundarr, Space Ghost, Birdman, Mighty Mightor, etc.)
Classic Star Wars
Scooby Doo (Scooby gang & various Monsters with Removable masks)
Wizard of Oz

Although, Mattel is already getting the bulk of my toy-buying money as it is.

With the new Green Hornet movie coming out next year, we're bound to see something from someone... I hope we do get Retro Green Hornet figures and Lone Ranger would be cool too, plus he's do for a comeback.

Mattel, please stop making articulated copies of the original MOTU toys as a rule and only use old elements that still hold up to today's standards.

For DC, I would like to see the original Batgirl (maybe with black tights this time), the original Doom Patrol and Metal Men, plus the entire Justice League, Justice Society, and Teen Titans (both old and new). I would love the Marvel Comics characters, including the original X-Men, and the original Avengers line-up.
I like the idea of the Hanna-Barbera Heroes. And Green Hornet and Kato.
Lastly, how about the 60's Batman TV show - heroes and villians. With collectors, I think this would knock it out of the park.

Wow, after the most recent Q&A I'm scared that these figures are going to turn out like DUCIH (over filled toy aisles anyone?). Mattel seems so clueless sometimes it makes you want to stop dealing w/ them entirely. Check out this question and answer:

Infinite Hollywood Reader Herd Asks: There have been some issues with the Mego-style Retro-Action figures. The torso tends to slump over, the leg bands are too tight in some instances and many fans have been replacing the bodies with other styles of bodies out there. Is Mattel looking into retooling the body any, such as fixing the legs, perhaps making a larger pelvis by Wave 3 or sooner?

We don’t have any plans to re-tool the body anytime soon but we will pass this suggestion on to the design team. At the end of the day, the Retro Figures are designed to work like vintage figures and that is half the fun!

Way to miss the point! I'm pretty sure fans are in agreement that the bodies that Mattel has designed are inferior to the old Mego bodies. That's the point. What a bunch of thick heads. No wonder fans feel the need to continuously point out why they don't like a product. Mattel will probably not redesign/fix the current bodies until it becomes sadly aparent that no one is buying them and then expect fans to buy the old figures clogging up the shelves on the promise of new fixed bodies to come. Most likely this will not happen as fans wait (in vain) for the new figures w/ fixed bodies to show up in stores. Mattel will then release a statement blaming either fan interest or store interest on why there will be no more Retro figures. We really shouldn't be surprised by this, as this seems to be the way Mattel handles all it's products and really only seems to get lucky w/ some licenses.

I would like to see the AHI produced, Official Worlds Greatest Super Monsters 8" figure line from the 70's. I especially would love to see the Creature from the Black Lagoon .

I, Sooper Dooper Man, most accuredly thinks that the He-Man and She-Ra properties made in Mego-ish format would make for an excellent retro-toy sandwich! HA HA HA! Hold the mayo!

I would love some of the "Meddling Kids" types from Boomerang in this format as well. Speed Buggy, Captain Caveman & the Teen Angels, Jabberjaw, Fangface, Clue Club, etc. etc.
