Once Mattel has worked out all of the kinks associated with the Retro figure bodies they will be able to use the format to create a new line of figures.....What type of figures or lines would you like to see in the 8 inch format?

I like the He-Man Mego combination...He-Mego could be a really fun line. Disney could also be a great avenue for Mattel to investigate.

I would have really loved for Mego to continue making the Knights of King Arthur's round table. Maybe Sir Gawain, the Green Knight, Sir Percival, etc...The pirates would be a great way to go to too!

Maybe Mattel should try to use this format for the next Pirates of the Caribbean film if they get the license. I would be great to see a line of pirates generic or otherwise. They could even create gladiators such as Spartacus if the they obtain the license from the new show as an excuse to broaden appeal to adult collectors.

Does anyone else have a line to inspire Mattel? I read they have been scouring for properties that can launch movies as well as interest toy buyers.

I agree that Mattel should use this style on more licenses. I know kids would love these figures, as long as they are durable.

I think a mego He-Man would be cool, they should give him a "muscle suit" to bulk up the basic body.

Alice in Wonderland or Wizard of Oz (if the supposed re-make is made) would also make great retro style lines.

007, new or old, would be great re-made in this style.

V figures in this style may be cool, as would all the old movie monsters.

Mattel, please stop making articulated copies of the original MOTU toys as a rule and only use old elements that still hold up to today's standards.

I hear Marvel characters would look cool in the "retro" style. Wink

I was kinda thinking V too! I used to have the old V doll and I loved it except no one was there to remove his lizard face!

Alice in Wonderland might be a really cool property...it has that Wizard of Oz flavor but is totally new and popular with kids and collectors! I get misty eyed when I miss the marvel crew!

The Rocketeer would also be a great Retro line for Mattel to produce! He is like a Disney Super hero with collector appeal and amazing visuals.

Hopefully Ghostbusters will encourage Matty to keep adding new figures!

The Rocketeer would be great, but since Disney owns Marvel would Mattel releasing DC figures affect a license agreement?

I guess if it did it would affect Alice in Wonderland (the disney movies).

Yeah...I forgot about the whole Disney/Marvel buy out! I'm not sure how that is going to work out! Mattel does not seem to get all of the Disney lines these days. I thought Prince of Persia might be great for this line...but it looks like Mc Farlane has the license for thatt...I wonder if Mattel will get Tron? That could be cool too!

No, keep everything 6 inch and make them all from the JLU cartoon all the exact same as the cartoon but in 6 inch. 8 inch or bigger if its a bigger villian or hero. Like the DC super-heroes/DCUC MONGUL and the BANE are a disgrace. I recommend the DC Direct Nightfall Bane. I'm on the fence on the DC Super-heroes Killer Croc's figure size.

DCUC Wishlist: Steel (JLU style), Hawk, Dove, Rocket Red, Vibe, Johnny ThunderBolt & Lighting, Nemesis, Aztek, Stargirl, S.T.R.I.P.E., Huntress, Elongated Man, Fire, Ice, Sand, Starman, Amazo (JLU style), Vixen, Nemesis, Crimson Avenger, Shining Knight with BAF Flying Horse, Vigilante (cowboy) Crimson Fox, Gypsy and Long Shadow. Also the Secret society of Supervillians from this link that dont have a DCUC figure yet: http://jl.toonzone.net/whoswholod/whoswholod.htm

Yah know what I just realized, Mattel has the Cars license and that's Disney so there should be no problem w/ getting a product from Disney. Maybe there's actually hope that they could get the Marvel license to do Mego style figures, now that Disney owns Marvel..........by the way I'm on my knees praying to every god I can think of right now that it comes true.

I think all the best/ most iconic figures are locked up at Hasbro right now! Who knows Disney may eventually defect to Hasbro? However, it would be awesome to get some Retro Action in the Marvel Universe! I'm not sure the the Ghostbusters cartoon is exciting enough.

I like that suggestion above:

007 all the way. So much potential there, with enough Bond ACTOR variants to make, villains, AND females that Mattel would be set for say, 2016.

Oh way, another line already has them preoccupied with that. Roll Eyes

Actually, ANYTHING Mattel 007 would rock. 4 Horsemen or Retro, i'd buy 'em all. I loves me some Bond.

Totally off topic, but where did you hear this? To me, the only Steve Austin is bionic, not a wrestler, so I've waited for this for years. Universal straightened out things after letting their rights to the "Cyborg" novel (the book by Martin Caiden the series was based on) lapse?

If true, I've wanted an 8" line based on this property since the original Megos were out. Had the 12" stuff, but I so wanted Steve to team up with the Justice League.

The writer/producer of the series confirms it.

I would vote for Mattel to ressurect their 8" "Big Jim" line with the wolf pack figures.
