Actually, from objective design points, it's hard to argue against the point. The simple fact that a Mego (or modern Mego based) body can hold it's leg up without it immediately falling down and can stand easily without jutting out it's pelvis are points hard to argue. Purely from the standpoint of usability and posability, the Doc Mego based bodies are of more sound design, and the proportions, based on an actual human physique, are more accurate (no thunder thighs, for one thing). Let me put it this way: as long as I have some way to simply balance the figure, I can have my original Superman hold another figure up over his head with his arms and have him stay there, without any of his joints giving way. I dare anyone to do the same with these Mattel figures made nearly 3 decades later. |

| I just got wave 2 from BBTS, and I have to say, if anything, the quality is worse than the first bunch. The waists and legs are all loose/useless (the hip thrust is the worst of any of the figures thus far), two of the figures have terribly bowed legs, and the Aquaman head is even worse in person than it looked in the prototype. To top it off, I moved Batman's arm and apparently it stretched the material on the chest, because the batsymbol now has several cracks in it. To be blunt, these figures are outright bad, and nowhere near worth the money. I'm definitely cancelling my BBTS pre-order for wave 3; I want to see if the next wave is as bad before I lay out another 80 bucks.
Truthfully, this set is bad enough that Mattel should be ashamed to put their name on it. I'm the exact market they are trying to reach here; Mego's WGSH were and are my favorite toy line of all time. I'm heavily pre-disposed to love these things, and there's a very good chance I'll be skipping the rest unless something massively improves. |

| I bought Two-Face and 2 Batman figures, one to open and display with the mask off.The one I opened was hard to stand up,its hip kept moving like Batman/Bruce was trying to stick his butt out. Finally managed to get it to stand up and look halfway decent. These may be the last ones I buy.I will have to see what else they release bat related. If they come out with a Joker that looks as good as Two-Face,then I might consider getting one. |

| Sooper Dooper Man will say simply that he has the Green Lantern and Sinestro from wave 1 and both figures are excellent! HA HA HA! Multicolored emotions! The sculpting on the heads/faces as well as the oversized boots and body-suits (i.e. Martian Manhunter) recalls a simpler time when toys were toys! A time when you were encouraged to have fun with your figures and enjoy them for what they are instead of nit-picking every last little aspect of them! HA HA HA! Naggy McNag pants! At any rate, I, Sooper Dooper Man, am extremely happy with the quality of these figures! Having grown up playing with original Megos as a young Sooper Dooper Boy, Sooper Dooper Man is destined to favor anything Mego-ish and appreciate them for the wondeful toys they are! HA HA HA! The good ol' days! Sooper Dooper Man is tickled pink to see these figures in his local Toys R Us and seeing previews of new figures in ToyFare! Darkseid looks awesome! HA HA HA! Uncontrollable laughter at the end of each point! |

Emcee is working with Mattel, not producing the figures for them. Given what Emcee has done in other lines, the problem here appears to be, as usual, Mattel. And for an example of what an 8" Mego type line CAN look like: http://megomuseum.com/communit...owthread.php?t=49128The sound you hear is Matty hanging his papier mache head in shame... |

There's two more they've shown, but they do have a female body in the works and Wilma and Tweeky are supposedly coming. I know these are 10 bucks more than the DC retros, but if Mattel made a Green Lantern with this kind of quality, I'd gladly hand them an extra ten spot for him. |

| I'm pretty sure Mattel came to a horse race with a lame horse and pretty well lost before the race began. Meaning, that with the poor quality given in the initial releases and the subsequent backlash from consumers, I'd be surprised if Toys R Us didn't stop ordering them. Of course I'm sure lack of consumer interest and not the quality will be blamed. Mattel doesn't seem to understand that consumers will pay a little more for quality and don't like paying for low quality, even if it does cost less.
------------------------------------ Mattel, please stop making articulated copies of the original MOTU toys as a rule and only use old elements that still hold up to today's standards.
