they are more expensive than most other 6" scale figs, but in almost all cases their value goes up after day of sale. from an investment stand point they are very much worth it.

I love when people complain about the fact that the figures use the same sculpts. It just shows how little they know about MOTU.

Well I don't think it's fair to say he's wrong from an investment point of view, because I think even if the prices were lower they would still skyrocket in value. I think even within reason, if they went up, they would still skyrocket in value. I think the initial cost is a separate issue from their increase potential. I also think it is amazing how one person's comment has generated such a response, from myself included. In the end, if they were cheaper I would be very happy. This is over $300 a year easy. I think it is fair complaint. Especially since I'm sure everybody has different financial situations. Ask for me, I probably would stop eating for a week if I had to choose between Skeletor and food. If it were NA figures or food... cheeseburger wins.

At some point it becomes less "the old figures used the same sculpts repeatedly" and more about value and feeling like you're getting your money's worth. That level varies from one person to the next, especially when people expect something in return for what they're paying.
