From some of the forum posts, it looks like I am not alone on some of these, but I wanted to toss everything out in hopes the problems can be addressed. Below was my 8/2 experience:
1. Several times when submitting at every stage of the order process, recieved the message Error: We are unable to perform the selected action. We apologize for the inconvenience. Error Number: SIT_000002 2. After waiting through the WSOD and arriving at my desired location (this occurred at the SDCC order screen, the shopping cart, and billing informaiton pages), the screen continued to refresh every 5 seconds. This resulted in only having 5 seconds to complete my activities on a page since it would refresh, go back to WSOD, eventually head back to the page, then if I was not quick enough just refresh the page again. I made sure to have only one window in my explorer opened after reading some issues people had with multiple, but this still occurred. 3. After my race to complete the pages, I would complete checkout and I received the message 'Your Shopping Cart is Empty' or an error message (like the one above). I repeated the ordering process multiple times with the same result until Orko was sold out. At about noon, the crazy refreshing of the website pages stopped and the WSOD worked normally, which led me to complete an order for Molar vs. Skeletor. 4. I refresh my inbox and order history page a few times and then a few minutes later a flood of emails and orders appear. A total of nine orders were processed, even though only my last order didn't show an error and went to the normal recepit/invoice page. This is some serious money that I do not have. I contacted digital river on the 1-800 number and reviewed the situation. Within a half hour the duplicate orders are suppossed to be cancelled. If not, I am in big trouble. |

The same happened to me, but I could get only unsubmitted orders. You were luckier than me.

Follow-up on my multiple order error:
I called digital river again yesterday after two hours had passed. This time the service rep provided me with cancellation request numbers for each of the eight duplicate orders and said they should be processed soon. I checked this morning and still no sign of cancellation -- no emails and the orders are still in process on matty. I checked my bank account and all of them are pending transactions which has basically frozen nearly all of my current balance. Have any mods heard of similiar scenarios where cancellation request numbers were given (or has anyone personally experienced this?) If so, did the orders eventually get canceled and how long did it take? I would much prefer this all to be settled with customer service, but I can't afford for these to go through; I will call digital river again today, but if nothing changes I guess I will open a dispute against the charges with my card company. |

Great news to report; the cancellations completed this morning as the shipping notice for my 'real' order went through.
For anyone who is experiencing or will experience duplicate order issues, I would recommend three things 1.) make sure to get the actual cancellation numbers for the requests. It may take a few different reps to get to this, but there are a few helpful ones (I definitely recommend Jefferson) 2.) Expect the cancellation requests to be 'pending' until shipping notices go out. It looks like this is the key time for the processing of cancellations. If you ask a rep when the cancellation will occur, they will not have an answer so it can get a little nerve racking. 3.) Post the specific technical problems on the forums. The mods here rock and go out of their way to help. Digital River may be slow to correct, but the best chance to get these things fixed (or at least recognized) is to provide specific details to identify the problems. Special thanks to MC Jodie! |
