Seriously , that's why i'm fighting since yesterday , ALL IN is the solution for the subscribers who can !!

BUT separate subscriptions for monthly figures , bonus , oversized N overpriced figures IS THE SOLUTION FOR MOST OF PEOPLE !
Or pre-order , i don't know but ALL OR NOTHING , i have to say NO ! Roll Eyes

so to reiterate... you KNEW this would happen and people would be mad and rather to try and make things smoother on the front end (you know, so the customers, or potential customers as many of us ended up being, don't even SEE a problem) you let this insanity happen.

why would you do that to yourselves, the company running your website and most importantly, the people giving you money?

all I can say is, it seems like there are more "unsubmitted orders" than submitted ones... take stock of that.. when the new runs are finished, go back and fulfill those orders FIRST.. and then open the rest up for sale.

and apologize for crying out loud. we didn't help the brand or skus or anything. we just wanted some cool toys.

As a marketing manager, here is what I would have done:

1. First off, make a public apology on the facebook fan site. This is and the he-man.org forums are where the real fans are, and with all the negativity from this morning's fiasco, someone needs to respond with an explanation of a) what went wrong, and b) how Matty intends to correct what happened.

2. Explain how the Eternia members will be compensated for not being able to use their coupon. The BC coupon was supposed to be the "bonus" item this month, and since so many of us got screwed out of being able to use the coupon, there needs to be some sort of restitution for the Eternia subscribers.

3. There has been a lot of talk about pre-orders or changing the subscriptions to getting all the figures released. In my opinion, there is a very easy fix. Any items that are placed in a cart should be removed from inventory. This would solve this morning's debacle. If a order is then cancelled, unsubmitted or left unchanged after 10 minutes, then those items are thrown back into the general inventory. This is how Ticketmaster/LiveNation does it, and it works. In addition, I would also limit items to 5 maximum. We are fans and collectors and we should not be passed over in favor of scalpers.

4. Finally, fire Digital River. This company has been nothing short of a nightmare for Matty. Their customer service is outsourced, the servers keep crashing, subscriptions are cancelled without warning. There are plenty of hungy companies out there who would make this site their #1 priority. Digital River probably views this as merely a toy site.

I've been at my job for nearly 14 years, and anything short of what I've outlined above is just terrible customer relations.

Your thoughts?

This has been such a sad day. I've never known so many people to get so screwed over by Matty before today. I'm not normally a big fan of complaining in threads and being brutally honest, but Mattel deserves this feedback today and I hope it keeps coming so they realize how much they've messed up. Absolutely pathetic.
