It's sad when you enter on a Forum and the first post you make is about complaining about something...

I started my MOTUC collection a little late, and here in Brazil, every single figure costs at least twice the price in the US (due to taxes, shipping, scalpers, etc). I tried to start my collection with the first time Skeletor was on sale at MattyC, but, of course, it was sold out before I give a try. After that I just gave up and avoid any image of MOTUC on the internet to avoid scalper prices on ebay...

When I heard that He-Man was going to be re-issued, I was so happy that I started to look for older figures to buy and them, on the special day, I could finally buy He-Man and start my MOTUC collection... In the mean time I found out a great ebay seller, great person, good friend and I started buying from him some figures and some other that he didn't have from other sellers.

And came the day I was most excited, the day to get 2 of my favorite childhood figures, battle cat and trapjaw (Just for curiosity Gato Guerreiro and Mandibula, in portuguese). And my friend came with and "Aw..", that was the sign of something bad, and the bad news came, he couldn't get any BC and no extra TJ... Bad for him, even bad for me, and was it his fault? Absolutely not!! It's Mattel's fault to do underproduction of popular items, just to see the collector strugling to win one or two figures, while the scalpers make their montly profit, buying tens of figures to sell for the double of the price on ebay... or more...

It's obvious why Mattel sells 10 items of each, why they don't care... It's a business scalper based, I mean, They do what every scalper wants, an under production of something that people want. The scalpers see how long that figure lasts on the website. Next sale the sold out is quicker, why?, because of scalpers buying more, not more collectors buying... And this comes to a place where Mattel sells for scalpers their figures, while a few lucky collectors can have one or two, and scalpers sells to collectors desperate for that figure.

The solution is simple, but impossible to reach... Collectors, stop buying from scalpers!! Mattel will relaunch the figures if the fans demand it, soon or later... Let the Scalpers stay with a huge stock of items, mark the sellers you see a BC for +90 USD as blacklisters, never deal with them again... I'll assure you, they will stop and we won't get this big headaches anymore...

WEll that's nice to think about but the " Gotta-have-it-NOW!" mentality that collectors have will alway in sure thet the scum of the Earth scalpers will ALWAYS be in business.

And for some reason Mattel tends to enjoy and dare I say it ENCOURAGE scalping, otherwise they wouldn't make so darned easy for them to do it.

13 pages and still no response from Toy Guru or anyone from Mattel. It shows where their loyalties really lie.

Well, I'm just as ****ed off as the rest of you., and even more so now after listening to TG bologna.. I'm not going to mention any names., and I'm not going to say anything more than things are not as they seem.. Just do as Matty wants and make sure to get the 2011 subscription after all Matty doesn't want you to miss another chance and getting your figure in 2011.. They're here to help you... (let's just hope the 2011 subscription doesn't include any... wait for it., wait for it., re-paints and or crappy figures - swing-blade he-man anyone) what a good way to cut cost and make BIG MONEY, force people to get a subscriptions that includes all figures: monthly, bonus and large., but hey lets re-paint some of the old molds - cutting cost of making new ones and we got a guarantee profit increase !!!.HHHmmmmmm not impressed..

You know, I don't get why people complain about an "Underproduce" item. If things are massed produced, the chances of errors goes up! I know, I work at a meds factory and when orders of high demand are forced to come out fast, the margine of error goes up. Think about it, if things are made fast and in big bulks you, the cosumer, might get one Battlecat that has too much paint on one of his orange stripes and God FORBID if you happend to get that one Battlecat with a little paint error.

Lets break that Speed record!

That's no error - it's a rare variant!

You're implying that Chinese factory workers would be allowed to take their time and focus on their work if not for the size of the order, despite the fact that they have 5-7 months of orders slated. They work in a Chinese factory!

Wow! What a morning it was on MattyCollector.com. We knew Trap Jaw was going to go fast, and we had high hopes for Battlecat even though he was a $30.00 item. But man, even the stands sold out. You guys are amazing fans and this type of dedication and support will only help us to make more skus and more amazing MOTUC product.

The good news is both Trap Jaw and Battle Cat are offically going back into production. So if you missed out, never fear, they will be back sooner rather then later.

Things are looking really great for future MOTUC figures. But as always, we do encourage fans to sign up for the annual club Eternia subscription. The 2011 sub will go on sale in July/Aug and it looks like we are leaning towards including all the skus, both monthly figs, quarterly figs and large scale figs in the 2011 subscription, so that should help everyone out!

Yestersay's Q & A finally went out a few minutes ago, so check out your favorite fan sites and then head back here to the Matty forums to discuss with Mattel Brand Managers and designers!

This was posted in the lengthy update on Matty's Facebook page:
Gee, and I guess there's no way that would work online?
