Comedian!!! I did not know you were a soap fan! I am not a closet soap fan, I can be pretty vocal about my love for soaps. lol
My best friend and I watch them and we will talk about the characters like they are real and people who don't watch will be like, "Who are these people you know? They seem to have serious problems." lol
I watch Young and the Restless but my faves are All My Children and One Life to Live. I was so upset when they were canceled, but now that they are moving onto the internet as a cable tv internet station or something, it is cool. It is like the days when soaps went from the radio to tv. I'm really glad that soaps will be a part of something new and evolving.
If you're also a fan of POP and like reading fan fiction, be sure to check out my ongoing fan fic in the POP section entitled Adora's Search for Honor.

Well everything is still being said to air in January. They have a website I believe, The Online Network, but I am not sure if that site is up and running yet.
They have been getting actors signed on left and right from what I have been reading in my Soap Opera Digest magazines. I also have read that this Prospect Park company has many ideas in store for the soaps going online. I can't wait! I am so excited!

I just hope people are patient enough to deal with the smaller screens and the enevitable commercials that most likely will not be fast-forwardable, unlike DVR. I hope it works!

Yes I hope so too. I want those shows to thrive. I also like that the marketing will be amped up too, ABC barely promoted their soaps.

Have you read that the January air date has been pushed back???? Also, only Ryan and Cara have signed up for Prospect Park so there may not be a continuation of All My Children at all!!!!!!!!!

Freddie, the news gets worse. Prospect Park has completely halted all talks and negotiations to go forward with both OLTL and AMC. They will not be continuing online at all. I am so upset.

I can understand All My Children, although it was the only ABC soap that I still watched the ratings were bad. NOT THAT THE CHEW IS DOING MUCH BETTER, but I digress. My best friend watches One Life to Live on the other hand and they have a new stable of writers and the show is now out performing General Hospital. Why cancel it?

Just saw this post....yes I woke every day to watch those darn stories....and to smoke.....I have now quit both.
I still watch Bold and the beautiful from time to time.....but I just hate those Logan's....their all just trash.
Well One Life to Live is one of the best shows on tv right now. That goes for prime time and cable. I know that is a crazy thing to say about a soap because so many people dislike them, but my goodness oltl is so good. All My Children could have been much better in the recent years, but ABC hired the worst writers in the history of storytelling. They didn't know the characters at all.
And Comedian, I never really watch B&B, but I know a little bit about it from what I read in Soap Opera Digest. And the Logans are pretty messy. Flat out messy. lol

I don't think British Soaps would translate well for an American audience... they are generally a mix of depressing storylines, death and comedy.
I watch Eastenders (as I come from the Eastend of London). It's all cockney people fighting and having a horrible time with the odd bit of comic relief thrown in.
Everytime the local pub has a party you know for sure someone is going to die...
