Matty Facebook Page - Getting unblocked?

I was blocked from the Facebook page a few months ago, probably for going on a tirade about how bad the site was during one of the sales. Really don't think I should've blocked, since 1) I was voicing an opinion and 2) I still see people posting the same things, if not worse about the site or Mattycollector in general.

Deserved or not, I'd like to know if there is a way I can get unblocked.

Any mods what to chime in on this?

Just curious if there is a way to get unblocked.

I think this will be a question that will be completely ignored by the mods.

Hello Jokebusters

I'm more than happy to answer this.

Unfortunately a small minority of fans on the facebook page tend to think they are allowed to speak to anyone else (and use whatever abusive language they like) both aimed towards Mattel and often towards each other. They are a relative few, but they seem to enjoy riling up other members of the page and making derogatory comments towards others on there. We just can't tolerate that kind of behaviour, so the rules had to be tightened.

We do, and always have welcomed people to speak their minds and opinions, but we have always asked that people do this in a constructive and non-offensive way. Unfortunatley not everyone seems to be able to do this in a civil way, and often instead, take it out on each other, with attacks and nasty comments to other members of the page. That's not the kind of action that any company would want on it's pages, and so there is now a lower level of tolerance for the kind of comments that are allowed. If there is cursing or an attack on another member of the page then it's likely that person would be removed swiftly from the group/page.

Often however it's nothing to do with Mattel at all, the flag and report functions are there for other people on the pages to use, and it's a 'X number of strikes and you're out' function for all facebook pages. If you're reported several times by other people on there then you are automatically blocked or removed, that's facebook policy and not our own.

I am sorry to hear you've been removed, however we have no information on why this may be, there are literally thousands of fans on the page, and we do not keep records of the who/what/when/where, moderators keep an eye on anyone they think needs watching and take appropriate action if necessary. That aside once someone has been removed there isn't a way to 'appeal' it i'm afraid.

You're obviously welcome to continue posting here though, we welcome anyone that can speak, debate and share their love of the toys and cartoons with other fans.

best wishes

Cat

Catra, the thing is that it might not have even been someone being nasty. Facebook is so messed up that you can even be blocked from it for simply adding too many people faster than it likes. Trying to get an answer out of them is impossible and their terms of service basically leave you powerless in terms of being suspended. This thread should seriously be renamed to "Facebook is so dodgy!" because it's a pretty safe bet that this is all down to Facebook's overall dodginess.

I appreciate what you're saying Bowspearer, unfortunatley we have no control over Facebook here, or their policy or the way they handle their accounts/members, so i'm afraid there's not much more I can add of help. Sorry!

Well yeah, unless Mattel had bought facebook all of a sudden, that was pretty much a given. My point was more that Facebook's banning and appeal's system is so messed up that it's arguably you guys here might not even have much control over the situation.
